Ireland’s personal insolvency framework continues to give people with unsustainable debt a fresh start. In 2025, 96% of PIA debtors kept their family homes and a third secured a mortgage write-down.
Behind those figures, things are moving. Creditor attitudes, the growing role of funds and non-bank lenders, and recent Court judgments are all shaping what a successful proposal looks like.
On Wednesday 25th November at 2pm, McCambridge Duffy Ireland is hosting Insolvency Insights 2026. It’s a free online session on Zoom, taking a practical look at where personal insolvency stands now and what it means for the people you support.
What we’ll cover
The latest Insolvency Service of Ireland figures. We’ll look at what the most recent ISI data shows about how personal insolvency arrangements are performing, and what the trends mean in practice.
How creditors are approaching proposals. Creditor responses have a big influence on whether a proposal gets over the line. We’ll share what we’re seeing in day-to-day practice.
The growing role of funds and non-bank lenders. More borrowers now find their debts held by funds and non-bank lenders. We’ll look at how that affects the process and the people involved.
Recent Court judgments. We’ll cover recent decisions and what they mean for building proposals that succeed.
Who it’s for
The session suits PIPs, MABS advisers, solicitors, accountants and anyone who supports people in financial difficulty. If clients come to you worried about debt, it will give you a clear, current picture of how personal insolvency can help them.
Meet the presenters

Ronan Duffy, Partner and PIP.

Damien Green, Head of Personal Insolvency.
Both work with people in financial difficulty every day, so the session draws on real cases rather than theory.
